Facebook Ads vs Google Ads: Where Should You Start in 2026?

The question we get more than any other from new course members. The right answer depends on three things — and almost nobody asks about them. Here's a clear, no-bias breakdown.

"Sir, Facebook Ads chalaun ya Google Ads?" — if I had ₹100 for every time I've been asked this, I could retire on it. The honest answer: it depends on three variables. Once you understand them, the choice becomes obvious.

The two platforms are solving two completely different problems

  • Google Ads shows your ad to people who are already searching for what you sell. Intent is high.
  • Facebook/Instagram Ads shows your ad to people who fit a profile but are not actively searching. You must create the desire.
Google = catch demand. Facebook = create demand.

The three variables that decide the right channel

1. Is your category searched on Google?

Pest control, AC repair, lawyer in Bhubaneswar — heavily searched. Google Ads wins. Home decor, a new beauty product, personal brand coaching — nobody Googles these. Facebook wins.

2. What is your average order value?

Google Ads in competitive Indian categories can cost ₹30–₹120 per click. Low-ticket products are usually better off on Reels and Facebook.

3. Do you have content that converts on the feed?

Facebook is a content platform. If your video stops the scroll in 3 seconds, you'll get cheap leads. If you upload a logo and a stock photo, your ad will burn money.

My default recommendation

  1. High search-intent service → Google Search Ads. Budget: ₹500–₹1,000/day.
  2. Product/course/personal brand → Meta Ads on Reels placement. Budget: ₹300–₹500/day.
  3. If both apply → Google first for 30 days, Meta in month 2.

Both platforms work. They just work for different jobs. Stop asking "which is better." Start asking "where is my customer raising their hand?"
